As Welcome Gallery Manager, Tori Cherry (she/her) leads programs, exhibitions, and events at Welcome Gallery and New City's adjacent studio space.

Tori Cherry is an artist based in Charlottesville, VA. She was a 2021-22 Aunspaugh Fellow at the University of Virginia where she graduated with a BA in Studio Art and Cognitive Science in 2021. Her paintings and drawings are comprised of portraiture and still life inspired by her surroundings and loved ones.

Having been a student docent and a teaching artist for The Fralin Museum of Art, U.Va., she looks forward to using the skills she’s learned both in program planning and execution to help create a more welcoming and inclusive gallery space. After graduating, the Charlottesville arts community has been incredibly welcoming, and she is excited to pay that support forward working with New City Arts.
